Phone interview went well. They ask you basic customer service questions and they dont want to hear much about how much you can sell, to pass this you will need to describe that you have good qualities like being approchable and being friendly. Tell them that you make friends with your customers and that you help the customer and help the company. My interviewer told me to come and do an in person interview in two days.
Two days later They took me and 4 other canidates into the waiting room for the 1st phase of the in person interview process. The entire process as a whole took me 3 hours, why, because they still took us one by one and each sales manager has to ask questions on a paper and write down responses. So have a good amount of time set aside for yourself. In this interview i urge you to look at this part as a conversation and not an interview. They want you to ask, not only "how are you today?" When you meet but also "how is your day going" master the small talk in the beginning and then the rest of the interview will feel easier. They will ask you questions such as how you exceeded a customers expectation, how you didnt satisfy a customer (dont actually say that you didnt satisfy a customer), what can you contribute to the team. The most important one, and they will ask again in the final interview, is how you can contribute. The answer is not that you can sell well. What i said was "you know, i can definitely tell you that my previous sales training equipped me to be able to sell these products or that i am technologically savvy with all cars in the entire world but that can all be taught, the most important thing that i can contribute to this team is unteachable and that is being a genuine human being. I am honest to my customers and always happy to help out not only my company but them as well. People see that quality and the sales come naturally." As you can see from my response they really want you to be customer centric. The next phase is going to be selling a car. 2 employees will come and get you and one of which you will sell a car to and the other you must ignore and allow them to take notes. Before this they will have you watch a short video. One thing about the video is at the end the woman in the video will say "this process will take about 5 min" THAT IS WRONG. They will allow you to go over. There was no time limit and no one will stop the sales process but you..or if you just run out of things to say then im sure they will step in but it is best if you close the deal. They will take you out on to the lot and allow you to pick a vehicle you are comfortable with. (The video also gets that wrong) dont pick the first car you see, ask them where *blank* brand of vehicles you actually kinda know about is on the lot if you cant see them. Then you will walk over to a car and begin. Start off by introducing yourself and then ask them what brings them in today. After these two things are done your experience will differ but the main goal is to not only ask them about what they look for in a vehicle and tell them that the vehicle they are interested in is the car you picked and why but it is also to just ask questions such as "do you have children? Is this for a commute? How old are the kids? Where do you work at?" The main goal of this WHOLE exercise is to show that you can learn and connect with a customer so if you are able to get to know them then you will pass this too. Also the easiest close is this "So it sounds to me like this car can really fit all your needs, it truly is a great car and great car for you, so are you ready to do this and take it home?" they cant say no so dont feel nervous on just asking for the sale like this. After that was done they asked me to come back to meet the LGM on the following friday. If he or she is there then they may ask you to meet with them then and there which might take another hour more. When you meet with the Location General Manager they will ask you why you are interested in the position, how can you contribute to the company, and at least one of the questions that the earlier in person interviewer or phone interviewer asked you. It is okay to repeat info just as long as you do it confidently. Once this formality of meeting your big boss is done then you are probably hired. If you dont get past one of the stages and they will call you back then i seriously recommend you keep applying because that is not a great sign. Good luck to anyone who read this and is curious about the interviews and thanks for your time.
