The manager started off by saying “I don’t have anything from our recruiter so I have no idea who you are, but let’s do this anyway.” It was 30 minutes of the hiring manager replying to emails and even texts while I answered basic canned questions. He was so not mentally in the interview, I could’ve told him “I have a pet toaster” and he’d probably respond “that sounds great.” The interview finished with the hiring manager saying I did “great” and wanted to move to next steps by speaking with his SE Manager. He abruptly ended the video seconds after answering his phone mid sentence about how he looked forward to speaking again.
