First interview with HR and the second interview with the department head were very straightforward. For the third round though I just received a google invite for another interview- no ask about availability. There was then miscommunication and confusion for what was described as the final round. They changed the amount of time they needed and added a presentation with limited communication. It ended up being over 2 half days unnecessarily. Again I just got the google invite in my inbox. Despite the logistical back and forth I received some of the most positive feedback I’ve ever gotten during an interview. I was told I would hear on Monday about the offer. Got an email late Friday asking for availability on Monday with the manager to “go over things”. The Google invite had the meeting as an hour long. Felt really good! I though the meeting would be going over logistics, because they phrased as being a chill meet up- besides the final round had ended. It ended up being a surprise hour long technical interview. This completely threw me. I felt like I did okay anyway but then they had the decency to wait a whole 7 minutes before sending a rejection email. As a candidate I had a horrible experience and feel like I have a right to be frustrated with this company. I am still confused and annoyed with how I was treated.
