My experience involved a young and inexperienced HR staff who conducted a group interview along with another staff member. When I accepted the interview, I made the mistake of assuming that I would be interviewing with the hiring (direct) manager because it's such a small company. Instead, I was put through an exhaustive interview followed by a skills test on MS Office which I found odd for the job position. Then, I was asked to provide numerous business and personal references prior to an offer along with a permission form that allows the company to ask references peculiar questions like the status of personal hygiene. There was no follow-up or thank you for going through the interview process. The atmosphere of the work environment seemed to indicate that the business operated on a shoestring budget. The staff that I did meet were very nice, but it was apparent that they were undervalued and underpaid. I wouldn't recommend going through the process unless it's a last resort. The vibe was unprofessional.
