I spoke with the interviewers for 15 minutes before they casually mentioned, "By the way, we already filled this role. But we’ve got a couple more junior roles available!" Translation: bait and switch. The original position already paid less than half of what I made ten years ago, before inflation. It's disrespectful and shows a disregard for a candidate's time and a willingness to mislead rather than own mistakes. If this is how Carnegie treat's people they're trying to hire, imagine how they treat employees once you're on the inside.
