30 min Phone conversation with recruiter who seemed very nice and gave a through overview of the position and 20 minute interview with the hiring manager who obviously did not want to talk to me and wouldn't let me speak. For instance, I was asked if I have ever dealt with human trafficking and as it's an AML related position and as I have several years working in AML yes, I have dealt with such things. When I was giving an example she literally cut me off mid sentence and changed the subject. She did not know the difference between CBD which is legal everywhere vs. Marijuana which is legal at state level in some states and wanted to argue with me. She obviously did not like that I work in the gaming industry and made that known. Overall I felt the interview was a waste of time and highly offensive and if you are serious about working in AML at any level, I would suggest looking for a company where management is knowledgeable about the topic and willing to deal with uncomfortable topics such as human trafficking, sex trafficking, illegal gambling and drug trafficking as those are very common occurances while working in an AML field. I received an email the next morning saying I was not selected for the position which wasn't a surprise. My advice for the company would be to hire more knowledgeable people as you can not effectively adhere to BSA regulations if you don't know seem to know what they are.
