Casper reached out on LinkedIn, and scheduled a phone screen. This call lasted less than 5 minutes, and they asked almost nothing about my background. Then they scheduled an in-person onsite interview with the hiring manager. When I arrived and started speaking with her, it came to light that the recruiting staff had told me I was interviewing for a different category. Luckily, I had experience in both areas and was able to speak to both. After 2 - 3 months of back and forth to schedule a final round, I was scheduled to call one person then meet the rest of the group in person the next day. The in-house recruiter emailed me telling me the hiring manager would call me on my cell phone, and when no one called, she told me I misunderstood and was supposed to call into a conference line to present my project. Not only was she the one who made the scheduling mistake, she also failed to inform me of any project. How unprofessional to try to blame me. When I asked what she meant by a project, she sent me a prompt and asked me to work on it for my in-person the following day. The disorganization and disrespect to me as a candidate shows their lack of structure and process. I also got the impression this stems from the leadership as well, as the hiring manager referred to her tumultuous journey being passed from one manager to the next in her few years at the company. I declined to return for the final round. A close friend also applied for the role, and returned four times for "interviews" where they asked almost nothing about his background and only about his contacts and factory sources. It seems they were only interested in his contacts and had no intention of considering him for the role itself. He also declined any further contact.
