The first step was a short screening call. This went well, but at points it seemed like the interviewer was annoyed that I didn't know every single nuanced thing about the company. Giving a top-level summary of why you wanted to work there seemed not detailed enough, even if you are only given 15 minutes to chat. A week later, I was given a writing assessment, which included a blog post, press release, and graphic. It was to be completed in 24 hours, and required quite a bit of work. I received confirmation of submission, and then radio silence for over a month. I then received a canned rejection. No feedback on the assessment was offered, which was unusual for positions like this. Additionally, I received no direct contact information for the interviewers, just the company inbox that would be "re-routed." This made reaching out for updates very difficult. The interview process should be revamped and streamlined. For not a large company, it was very impersonal.
