      Sales Engineer Interview

      Jun 19, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Tysons Corner, VA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Cellebrite (Tysons Corner, VA) in Apr 2019

      Interview

This the interview was pretty quick, professional, and polite process. That is until the very end when the external recruiter left me hanging. I spoke to both a junior and the senior recruiter from an external company. I was then invited on-site to interview with the hiring manager and the local VP. I’ve been around a long time and had been through the interview process a number of times. I have never felt so comfortable about the probability of getting the job as I was at the point. They then asked me to do a quick tech screen the next day which also went well. After that nothing but crickets, I never heard from them again. I was really surprised and disappointed, I thought I would be a great asset to the team. My suggestion to Cellebrite is to reconsider using this specific recruiter in the future. He was the most disrespectful recruiter that I have ever worked with. I dealt with other external recruiters, but this one was the most painful. You are the ‘Belle of the Ball’ during the interviews and then you are a pariah if things go south. I checked in with him 3 times after my interviews, and each time he sent me ridiculous updates. I need to be more patient, the decision was pushed to the end of the month, and that it was between me and another guy. I bet if I called him today, he would come up with another excuse to leave me hanging. I gave up and checked on the website and the posting had been removed. He knew that I didn’t get the job, I knew that I didn’t get it, and he knew that I knew and just didn’t care. Why do recruiters do this? Why can’t they just tell you that you didn’t get the position and maybe some feedback. I’m pretty sure that the customer gave him feedback.
