Interview
They contacted me though linkedIn, sent over the job description and we had a phone interview. They called on time, explained the situation, what they were looking for and petty much just asked about my skills. It could have been done by just asking for my resume, but now I am in their system, so that worked out.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Cerence AI in Jun 2021
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn and had a phone screen with her. I completed a "linguistics challenge" and was invited for an interview, which was pleasant as far as interviews go.
They then kept me as their "top" (only) candidate for over a month while interviewing and rejecting other candidates before finally rejecting me. Of course I don't know what was going on behind the scenes, but to me this sends two messages: 1. they have no respect for my time, and 2. they were never actually willing to hire me, it just made them feel better to have an "active" candidate. Whether this is 100% accurate or not, it leaves a bad impression.
