      Field Production Associate Interview

      Jun 28, 2021
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at CertaPro Painters

      Interview

I interviewed at the Atlanta/Decatur location and it went horrible. To start, the gentleman I interviewed with were extremely condescending as soon as I walked in the door. ZERO smiles and personality. Also, the office was a DUMP. I interviewed with one of the Production Managers and the Owner of this particular franchise in Decatur. First, the interview questions were extremely scripted, tough and seemed to be put together 10 minutes before I got there. Secondly, the owner was looking at my resume as if it were his first time reviewing it... because it definitely was his first time. He asks "why are you even here interviewing for this role? You have no relevant experience." Which I thought was extremely rude. I proceed to sell myself on the abundant interpersonal/relationship building roles I had and thought they'd be extremely relevant. They both even mentioned that they're not looking for anyone with construction/painting experience just someone who can do the job well. That was confusing because why was I even recruited to this point if I was 'so unqualified' it just didn't make sense. He also mentions that he didn't like my resume because I was 'job hopping' which is incorrect. My first role I was there for 2+ years then got an internship with the same company for a year, my second role was a year, my third was a limited contract position. When I pointed that out to him he was very silent. I'm sure he felt kind of stupid. That's a big reason why I think he only glanced at my resume. Literally almost every answer I gave they had a rebuttable as if all my answers were wrong. Keep in mind, 90% of interviews I've done I have had an offer from the company. Throughout the interview I felt picked on and teamed up on by both of these unprofessional men. At one point I started to get anxious and shaky because of how disrespected and uncomfortable I felt. It lasted about an hour and that whole hour I was miserable every second of it. I was so angry that I left without even shaking one of the interviewers hands, I just wanted to get out. If I was offered the position I would very quickly turned it down. Less than 1 month later I got a much higher compensating job doing what I love. All in all, judging from these 2 men, I would never suggest to work for this company but I will also never use their services or products. Here's some advice, interviews are supposed to be a growing and learning experience from both parties involved not an attack on 1 individual.
