The recruiter was very polite and thorough in explaining the job description, expectations, and allowed me to ask questions. They also clarified that this is a sales role with KPIs, which I understood. However, there were a few red flags during the process. When I moved on to the second round, the recruiter provided very basic interview prep advice that felt more suited for someone just entering the workforce—such as "dress professionally," "have good questions," and "be on time." Given my years of professional experience, this felt a bit out of place, but I chalked it up to standard protocol.
The second-round interview with the Enrollment Manager, however, was a different story. She was late, appeared disheveled, and seemed distracted and rushed throughout the call. She asked me to introduce myself, but quickly interrupted to focus solely on my KPIs and whether I had hit specific numbers. It felt like she wasn’t interested in hearing about my experience or how I could help others, which was frustrating. The mock call was rushed and not given much attention. By the end of the interview, I had no questions left and just wanted to wrap it up. The whole interaction left a very negative impression, and the energy was not what I had hoped for.
