The interview was ok at best. The HR person, only being at the company for 3 months, was sick and kept sneezing on the phone. We chatted about various things. We chatted for 30-40 minutes about various things. She asked me how many people support; which I explained that I provide administrative support for 6 partners covering a multitude of projects.

Question 1
Questions were vague in nature, since the CEO never had a prior Executive Assistant.

Interview
Oh boy, steer clear. I applied to an Executive Assistant role at checkr where, according to LinkedIn, I was one of the first few applicants. I was emailed by a recruiter and set up a phone screen. The call went well, she said I was the strongest candidate she’d spoken to yet because I had experience that others lacked. She mentioned the next step was a writing assignment but then I didn’t hear back from her for nearly a week. At that point she ‘noticed the assignment had not gone through in their ATS’ so she sent it over to me asking for a 48 hour return. I sent the assignment over in well under 24 hours and followed up with the recruiter the following day- only to, hours later, receive a boilerplate rejection sent from their ATS software. So- a phone screen and an assignment, and the recruiter could not even be bothered to email me herself that I was not moving forward? With no feedback? Apparently this is what checkr does. They keep introducing new candidates into their pipeline, lie to them about the strength of their candidacy, and reject them with no human presence when they get a signed offer from someone else. It’s disgusting behavior and honestly just plain sad. Don’t waste your time, if this process is any reflection of the way the company runs, you’d be best to stay far away.

Interview
I had 4 interviews over a weeks time. 3 interviews with Senior VPs I would be working directly with and one individual who would be on my team.
Each interview was 1 hr long and the questions ranged over a many target areas.
All of the interviewers were personable. They felt more like conversations that interviews.
