I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Checkr (San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2016
Interview
Fairly straight forward interview process. Applied online, a recruiter reached out to set up a phone screen. Had two phone screens, one with an in house recruiter and the second with the hiring manager. Interviewed onsite with 4 members of the CS team, 2 on 1 and two 1 on 1s (1 hr each). Next I was asked to come back to meet with VP as the final stage. The in person interviews were long but it was a great opportunity to spend time with the team and get a feel for the culture and organization as a whole. I was given a gift bag with a Checkr T-shirt which was a really memorable and unique touch. As an applicant I appreciated the consistency and transparency from the recruiting team as well as the team members I met with. Everyone at Checkr made me feel like my time was just as valuable as theirs. It's obvious that everyone is excited about the product and the future of the company. Overall it was a really positive and efficient process!

Interview
Very LONG interview process. 7 interviews for a mid level position is crazy. Also during the 4th interview, the interviewer asked how I would help prevent burn out of cross functional team member which is a big red flag!

Interview
Recruiter reached out and we scheduled a time to chat via the phone. She never called, so I called her. No answer, but roughly 2 hours later she called and said she was sick so we rescheduled. Not a great start, but I’m understanding of situations like that.
We got in contact a few days later and spoke for 30min about the team and job expectations.
A week later I met with the hiring manager via Zoom. Chatted for roughly 30min and discussed my past job experiences. She seemed distracted throughout our talk.
The week after that, I met with two of the team members. They were nice. Conversation lasted about an hour.
Never received an update afterwards on when the next interview would take place. I contacted the recruiter via email but she never got back to me.
Then almost 2 weeks later, the hiring manager reached out and we scheduled another interview with her. This time it lasted almost an hour. Again, she seemed very distracted the entire time.
Another week passed by with no update. So I contacted the recruiter again for an update on my next steps. No response still. Mind you, we were approaching a month since this process started and I hadn’t received one update or response from her.
Another week goes by and I receive a generic email letting me know that they were moving forward with other candidates.
I accept the fact that I must not have had the experience they were looking for. But as a potential candidate, I spent over a month in the interview process and had multiple lengthy interviews. I had to move my schedule around to work with the times they scheduled the meetings at. It was a hassle for sure. A little communication throughout the process or afterwards would have been nice.
Overall, I found the hiring team to be very unprofessional and they don’t seem to care how much time of yours they take up. Hopefully if you are a potential candidate, you don’t get the same treatment.

Interview
Quick initial interview, did not feel like I was asked enough questions and then was told I did not advance. Just would have liked more of an opportunity to discuss why I was targeting this role. They did respond fast even though I did not advance.
