First of all, if you are pregnant, stay away, they will rescind your offer. See my experience below - A recruiter contacted me after I submitted my application online, so my first round was with her where she asked very straight forward and simple intake questions. After passing that round, she informed me that I would move onto a panel interview with 3 managers, one of which would be a direct supervisor. For the interview, no one else had their camera besides me. Everyone also read off of a sheet of questions (extremely technical) and asked me to provide yes or no answers. At times, I would start giving examples of what I did, and was interrupted to stop because they had to get through 3 sheets of questions. I was appalled by how insanely boring the interview was, and thought I could have easily just completed a survey or written test, if they just wanted to know how good my SQL skills were. Note that although the role I interviewed for had technical aspects, it required a lot of people and influencer management. since it's at the Director level. After I completed this round, I was advanced to the final round with the VP. I had a really pleasant conversation with her and felt great about my candidacy. I got the offer two weeks later from the recruiter via an email with the salary number included in the body of the email. I replied that I was currently pregnant and wanted to know what the maternity leave policy was. The recruiter replied with the policy attached in the email shortly after. However, just a few short minutes after that, I noticed that she tried to "recall" that email (it failed because I had already read it). I then received a phone call from her and she told me that the position had just been eliminated. I was of course sad to hear that, but given that I had other offers, I decided to take that as a sign that this was not the right place for me. The other two companies both offered to work out maternity leave arrangements (the one I ended up working at covered me for 15 weeks paid shortly after I started) . I did enjoy working with my recruiter - I felt that she was professional and empathetic. However, her hands were most likely tied because of the hiring manager. Anyway, if you are a pregnant candidate or woman and interviewing for one of the more technical, internal roles, please think twice before applying.
