Interview with recruiter was straightforward. I was interviewed by a woman, lurching on a ship, so hard to keep focused, whose first question was my professional photgraphy abilities. Seeing that I had sent in a detailed resume/cover letter and am a photojournalist - with extensive experience listed - I found it an odd question. The hiring manager said she was in a different division, stretched thin with 12 locations, but seemed unable or unwilling to make the connection, that I had deep ties to the hospitality and cruise/photo SF landscape. Instead, she seemed glutted with her role, and had no direct touchpoints with the San Francisco market? And repeated about micromanaging multiple times, and that she had to constantly repeat things to folks who seemingly couldn't step up. Seeing that she needed help, and I checked all boxes, I can only assume she had not had extensive people-focused management courses, or real-life experience. I felt that rather than teach processes she wanted and trust others to do a great job, she would never be satisfied. I exited the process.
