      IT Associate Interview

      I interviewed at Chick-fil-A Corporate

      Interview

Within the company, the selection process is known as being very rigorous. From new college graduates all the way up to senior leaders at the corporate office staff selection is considered very important to the company's success and so if there is any doubt whatsoever, the company tends to pass on hiring and extend the process to find just the right candidate for a role. The IT associate role is for college graduates. Expect to speak with a recruiter on campus if available or otherwise a phone screener. There will be at least two on-site interviews at the corporate office in Atlanta. During my first on campus interview I spent the whole day there (8am to about 4pm) and took a skills test also. The second day I had on site was shorter but I spoke with senior leaders. Each interviewer was different. One or two focused on the role and others just seemed like a social chat. In general, the communication throughout the process was very timely and professional. Be sure to dress for the job!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The most challenging part of the interview for me was the technical exam. It's basically like taking the quantitative part of the SATs again. In the face to face interviews everything was very comfortable and I think it's because that's part of the culture at Chick-fil-A. They really want people to feel like guests at the corporate office - apparently even if they are applying for a job.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Chick-fil-A Corporate (Atlanta, GA) in Aug 2016

      Interview

The first step was a 5 question essay sent after you applied. This consisted of questions such as Why do you want to work for Chick-Fil-A? The second step was a video interview which consisted of similar questions as the 5 essay questions as well as why did you choose your major and why did you choose your University. The third step was an in person interview that started at 10:30am to 3:30pm. One technical interview and lunch provided. Each interview was pretty consistently the same except the technical interview. No religion questions were asked. Church was brought up and at lunch the associates prayed. The interviewers were quite humble and seemed nice. The 4th step they ask you to come back for another in person interview which I did not make it to. I was quite happy with the interview but I guess confused on what they are really looking for. Also, The position is IT which is quite broad. The interviewers did not seem to care about the fact I put myself through college and had to work to pay for it so my GPA was not top of the line but met the qualifications to get the position. During my final interview the HR person for the department told me I would hear back from them by September. I never heard back from them so I sent an email to the HR person for her to tell me that they sent me a rejection letter a couple of days after my interview. I checked my email everyday so I know I never received that rejection letter. I then asked for feedback to get no response.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Chick-fil-A Corporate (Atlanta, GA) in Jun 2015

      Interview

The interview process with them was a fairly long process. I first applied online, after reviewing your resume they they send you an application request. The application involves 5 or so essay questions. Following the completion of the application, I was contacted by an internal recruiter requesting a phone interview for the following day. The phone interview lasted about 30 minutes and I was contacted a few days later to schedule an in person interview. The in person interview was scheduled for a month later. The in person interview lasts about 7 hours with lunch provided. It is a one on one interview with 5 different people throughout the day. Lots of behavioral questions are asked. They want to know about your entire upbringing and where you come from. They are looking for a very specific type of person.
