I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Chipotle (North Chicago, IL) in Jul 2013
Interview
The hiring process was easy. I showed up about 15 minutes early and waited to be interviewed for another 10 minutes or so. They offered me a drink and I sat down and waited. Then the GM showed up. First I had a one on one interview the the GM, He was really nice and then since the 2nd GM was there as well I was interviewed with her on the spot. Chipotle usually has a 3 step interview process but that only happens when the other GM is not there because you must be interviewed with both. So I was fortunate enough that she was there. They later called me for the 2nd interview about 10 minutes after I walked out of the establishment, and I was scheduled for the 2nd interview a few days later. The second interview is when you meet with the crew. Each and every one of the crew member must like you in order to be hired. If even one does not like you, you will not get the job! I was asked fairly easy questions..The hardest question was.. Are there any questions.. in to which I replied what is your favorite thing about working at Chipotle?
The 2nd interview is a group interview or at least in my case it was a group interview along with any other person who also passed the first interview. I was interviewed along with another guy applying for the same position. They ask some of the same questions as the first interview. "why do you want to work here?, why Chipotle?" etc etc. It really helps to do a little research on the company. There website has it all. Look at the founder, Steve Ellis, what food with integrity is and the 13 characteristics of a Chipotle employee. All these questions are asked by the crew members.
But most importantly for my second interview I just had a very nice conversation with them. After the 2nd interview I got up, said bye to EVERYONE and then said thank you for your time.
About 2 days later I got called over the phone saying I have been hired and to meet for orientation.
Asked questions about what positions work best for you, why you want to work there, what makes you a good fit there, where you see yourself in 5 years. Very simple and open to answer any questions I had
I applied online. I interviewed at Chipotle (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2026
Interview
Very brief, was only asked a few questions. I felt a decision about not hiring me was made before the interviewer even sat down. I suspect the interviewer was not accustomed to interviewing and may actually only standing in for a manager that was not working that day
I applied online. I interviewed at Chipotle (West Hartford, CT) in May 2026
Interview
I scheduled an interview, but when I arrived the first time the manager was not there, so I had to reschedule. At the second interview, I waited about 10–15 minutes before the manager was ready. The interview itself was short, around 10 minutes, and mostly consisted of behavioral questions read from a sheet. Overall, the process felt disorganized and not very personal, but the questions were straightforward.
