I applied online. I interviewed at Christie's (New York, NY) in Jun 2021
Interview
It is beyond insulting to propose a yearly salary of barely $42,000 for an entry-level job that requires you to work 45+ hours a week with overtime being essential. Especially in the NYC area. It is unlivable, and quite frankly, abusive for such a large and financially successful organization to offer so little to entry-level staff and offer essentially no work life balance. I did not receive an offer and I'm very thankful that I didn't.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.
We acknowledge that salaries in the arts sector are not as high in comparison to other sectors such as financial services but we aim to be in the top quartile for our sector. We keep our salaries under constant review; we also offer all staff members a strong benefits package and generous annual leave allowance which creates a more compelling total compensation picture. It is also worth noting that all entry level staff are eligible for paid overtime for any work over and above their contracted hours. This can substantially enhance take home pay.
