I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Chronicle Books in Feb 2021
Interview
About a week after I submitted my cover letter and resume, I was asked to submit a reader’s report on a Picture Book manuscript. They then contacted me a few days later for an interview with 3 Children’s editors. My interviewers were so kind, and I really enjoyed chatting with them! The interview was much more conversational than formal. Chronicle seems like a lovely place to work.
My only complaint: This position was listed as remote, but I later discovered you could only work remotely from 7 states. If I had gotten the position, I would’ve had to relocate in less than two weeks. I wonder how this factor played into my application. Just something to keep in mind!
