I applied through college or university. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Chubb in Mar 2013
Interview
Panel Interivew with seven managers---all asking different questions, it was not that bad, but not all that helpful for me as they interviewweee. I'm not sure if that approach is that best way to actually interview candidates but from what I tell it's their standard approach.
The interview process consisted of three rounds, including conversations with team members and leadership. Discussions focused on experience, technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and overall fit for the role and organization.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe a time you faced a challenge at work and how you handled it.
My interview with Chubb gave me a strong understanding of both the company’s culture and the expectations of the underwriting role.
We discussed how Chubb operates as a global leader in insurance, with a strong emphasis on risk assessment, client relationships, and long-term financial stability. The team highlighted that underwriting at Chubb is not just technical, but also relationship-driven. Success in the role requires analytical thinking, communication skills, and the ability to balance risk with business opportunity.
3 interviews in total - 1 screening and 2 in-person. Not very technical. Salary for a first-time position is great (associate role). 30-minute interview. 2-3 people will be attending the meeting alongside you.
