I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Chubb (London, England) in Jul 2023
Interview
Initial telephone call with internal recruitment to find out more about the role, and see if it's a good fit. 1st interview with the Head of BI for EMEA; this can be remote but I chose F2F at the London office. It was a very comfortable experience and I was made to feel welcome. One of the few interviews I've had where I was asked about myself and my interests out of work, what makes me tick etc. The interviewer was genuinely interested in me as a person and not just my CV. Overview of the company direction and the responsibilities of the role. Joined by another senior developer for technical questions. This was quite enjoyable and I wasn't put under time pressure to complete. 2nd interview stage, again with the Head of BI and a senior stakeholder to discuss more about business relations, ways of working and how to approach problem solving. It was a engaging two way conversation and they were happy to take all of my questions
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Standard Qlik & PBI questions, analysing a load script and talking through the pros and cons of both tools, where each one fits into the BI stack. Scenario based questions on my experience of working with Qlik, and of projects where we have solved a business problem by providing insights and analysis using the tooling. Overall this was a really enjoyable process with an interviewer who was able to provide a clear and concise data strategy, explaining where the role fits, how they work with stakeholders, and the direction the team are moving in. Very good remuneration for the job grade with excellent benefits, but in the end I declined as was offered a more senior role
