I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at CipherHealth (New York, NY) in May 2015
Interview
The interview process was really slow. I have never had to wait so long to receive e-mail communication from an HR recruiter, especially compared to other health technology startups. I had 2 rounds of phone interviews, and then I was invited for an in-office visit. Even though I was told by an employee that their HR department has been revamped (with a total 2 recruiters now), it still felt very unprofessional. There were 4 interviewers lined up, but I kept seeing the recruiter going up to the designated person and tapping their shoulder to indicate I was ready for my interviewer, only to be kept waiting because they were caught in the middle of something. I was also shuffled around to different areas of the office because pods kept taking the place for a group meeting. I spent so much unnecessary time waiting for my interviewers and being relocated to another part of the office. The in-office visit left a bad impression - rejection never feels good, but in the end, I'm relieved that I won't be working here.

Interview
The interview was casual, and the recruiter set me up to talk to many folks on the team. The questions were a little repetitive and I stayed longer than was scheduled to, but I appreciated that the team wanted to ensure it was a good cultural fit for me and for them.

I visited the company twice, after numerous phone interviews. The interview process was slow, and had to reach HR sometimes. Overall the company seemed interesting, but the interview process seemed long and tedious for an entry level role.
