I interviewed with the Lead Sales Engineer for about 30 minutes. In the course of the interview, there was a detailed description of the position and expectations for the position plus a period for questions that I had about the position, the company, etc. I asked about the expectations of the position and the relationship with the BDMs and the SE. I sensed an appreciation for the question as it has nothing to do with compensation, benefits, etc rather a genuine question about the position and my potential role. The interview then went into a technical direction from a networking standpoint but being a telecom/VoIP specialist, I answered the questions as best as I could. The interviewer then shifted the interview to more of a telecom/telephony tone and he made the interview more comfortable as I was able to more confidently answer the questions. Overall, the interview went well as I may not be a fit for the particular position I applied for but the door is open for other immediate opportunities which suits my skills set better.
