The engineer that submitted my resume internally (who I met at a job fair) and the engineer that interviewed me were both great. The process was a first round technical interview, a (probably more advanced) second round technical interview, and then a behavioral interview with the hiring manager. The first interview was a technical one in which they had an Angular project scaffolded out into Stackblitz and you had to make a list of product names display using an observable and the async pipe. Then each product name should have a routerLink that rendered a separate product detail component also using an observable and async pipe. You could populate the product property on the product detail component using the activatedRoute and a getProductById() method that was already available on a service they had scaffolded out. It was the recruiter that sucked unfortunately. She was talented at being concise and unclear when scheduling the first interview, which she said would be done through some XOR AI system that Cisco has. She started the first email as if we had spoken before and we hadn't and so I had to ask clarifying questions about what the interview process was and she was still unclear about the scheduling of it. Really silly to me as this is something that is easy to do and that recruiters do all day every day. Ask for some avaialble times, let me know the process, and send a confirmation email with a calendar link. Not hard. It make the overall experience negative for me as I used to be a recruiter and I don't appreciate confusion and weirdness around what should be a polite, easy experience around scheduling. When I didn't pass after the first interview - which I kind of had a hunch I wouldn't get the role as I had a brain fart about the routerLink syntax :(, then the recruiter sent me an email asking for a quick chat. I wish she would have said I was rejected right away in an email and then we could have scheduled a call if I wanted feedback. It is not cool to have a candidate get their hopes up that a second interview will be scheduled and basically block out time in their schedule for a call the next day to say that the company won't be moving forward. Say that the company won't be moving forward right away and don't get my hopes up or waste my time as I try to find a job. Then when she finally did call, she was was late to make the call :(. TLDR: Engineers at company and actual interview was good, recruiter was both confusing and unprofessional.
