      CMO Summer Analyst Interview

      Nov 2, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Citi (New York, NY) in Oct 2016

      Interview

First round phone interview with an analyst. He was 20 minutes late to call, and had only been working in CMO for 4 months since graduating college. Instead of opening the call with the expected tell me about yourself, he starts talking to me about college football, which (not to engage in gender stereotypes) as a female, I knew nothing about. Very awkward to carry the conversation with regard to this topic, but he eventually asked me why CMO. I answered concretely, then he went off for a few minutes about the role and what it entails, as if I had not done any research at all. He then asked me why citi? to which I gave another concrete anwser, and I could tell her was not listening because when I was done with my response there was a long silence where I had to interject and say so uh..., at which time he asked me if I had any questions for him - which meant the interview was essentially over. (This was literally after two very basic questions). I tried to ask him questions that would allow me to also interject with insightful anecdotes or details about myself, but he made it very difficult. I tried to keep the interview fluid, but he was very awkward and to be honest, seemingly not listening, probably because it was 6PM and either busy working on something or really tired. He never asked me about myself or my previous professional experience. The interview was 16 minutes long (supposed to be 30). Extremely poor experience and unfair evaluation. This guy should not be interviewing....

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Citi

      Interview

There was a basic phone screen interview first. This was behavioral. The Superday included a case study, which you had an hour to look at, and then presented it in a smaller interview. This was followed by behavioral and quantitive interviews.

Interview process is pretty quick. Applied online and got the invitation to numerical online test two weeks after. After that I was invited to London for the Final Round (AC). It's a short group exercise, individual exercise and two competency based interviews.
