I applied through other source. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Citi (Gurgaon, Haryana) in Dec 2011
Interview
There were two rounds of interviews - one with line and the other with Line senior in the presence of HR. In the first round, the line manager only spoke about her accomplishments in the role and did not ask many questions. She seemed to be self obsessed for no reason. She also communicated that the working hours would not defined, there would be no transport even if a female was travelling after 7. She said that working till 10-11 pm was normal culture but if anyone asked one to work at 2 am, the discomfort would be understood. In the second round, again the superiority of Citibank over Citifinancial was highlighted (from where I was moving) and that I was being considered for the position only because I was from a sister concern. I was told that I could not expect a promotion in this role because it was to be a managerial role (later I saw others getting promoted)
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There was no question as such that was difficult but the fact that it seemed like a self admiration session instead of an interview. After a while, I started interjecting with work that I had done on lines of what the interviewer was talking about
Two rounds with 3 panel members first round more about general manager background and behavioral questions , 2nd round more technical about my project management experience in regional and global business environments
3 to 4 rounds, first one was technical, followed by behavioural, then business, and lastly fitment. Panel interviews, usually 2 interviewers. 3 to 4 rounds, first one was technical, followed by behavioural, then business, and lastly fitment. Panel interviews, usually 2 interviewers.
Was smooth. HR kept us posted of all developments. The number of interviews was not too many. Timely process completions with less waiting time. Overall, at par with other local banks.
