      Quantitative Developer Interview

      Apr 16, 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Tampa, FL
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Citi (Tampa, FL) in Nov 2013

      Interview

There were two rounds of phone interviews. One was difficult, as there were many technical questions related to development, finance, algorithms, etc. The second phone interview was much easier, and we just discussed my background and talked about the position. Next, was the skype interview with the group manager. He asked some very basic brain teasers, and some H&R-type questions (why do you want the job?, etc.). Finally, there was a half-day in-person interview with four panels. The questions were over a wide range of topics including programming, quant finance, and statistics. Overall, most interviewers were reasonable, and didn't dwell on a particular topic if I wasn't able to answer. Finally, there was an HR interview, which was very straightforward.

      Quantitative Developer Interview

      Oct 2, 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Budapest
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Citi (Budapest)

      Interview

The interview process had 3 stages and altogether took approximately 10 weeks.. First an interview with the local manager and the HR. The atmosphere was very friendly, the interviewers had very professional questions about my current status and what I imagine as a workplace. Second round was 2 technical interviews with two developers separately. They were very collegial and showed high level of professionalism. Some of the questions were very hard, going into the deepest detail of C++, others were logic exercises. The third round was a teleconference interview with the heads of MQA. They asked about certain scenarios / challenges at my (then) current workplace and projects I have done before and how I deal with them. It was a friendly discussion with a lot of interesting topics.
