I applied on Indeed.com and within one week the recruiter reached out to me by email. Like at most organizations, the recruiter screened me to make sure I met the minimum qualifications as listed on the job description. The recruiter interview style was conversational but professional. She told me the next step is forwarding my resume to the hiring manager. Since I have experience as a recruiter I know that if the hiring manager was interested, I would interview with the hiring manager. If the hiring manager was interested, then I would interview with the team, and perhaps leaders from different functions. It's been about two weeks since I've heard anything from the recruiter, so it's safe to say that the hiring manager was not interested. Since, I have experience in human resources (HR) and recruitment, I do understand the full-cycle recruiting workflow and process; thus, the fact that I did not get a follow-up email or call doesn't bother me one bit. However, for the sake of those who do not understand all that goes into recruiting, sending a follow-up email within two weeks would help eliminate negative feedback regarding the interview process on Glassdoor and or misconceptions about the organization and it's value.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my interview and the recruiter did a fantastic job screening my resume, and asking me questions regarding my qualifications.
