I applied online. I interviewed at Clarks (Dublin, Dublin) in Jan 2018
Interview
It was a group interview - 9 people. At the beginning they told us they had three days full of group interviews lined up, which was a little demotivating.
Like always during group interviews you have no chance if you're a little bit of shy or if you don't interrupt other people when they speak and don't scream at them. So basically if you're not willing to be disrespectful to be the first one who responds to the questions you won't get noticed. Sad.
They made us introduce each other - paired us up, we had 5 minutes to find out everything relevant about the other person and then we had to introduce them to the rest of the group. I don't think that 'game' is fair, obviously they couldn't remember everything I told them and introduce me properly. Just like I didn't give them justice.
Then we got split into two groups and got 5 shoes each group. We had 20 minutes to come up with a list of good and bad things about the shoes and then present them.
At the end there were some general questions like 'What do you know about the company?' I believe it's hard to judge people in a situation when the first person basically recited the whole Wikipedia page. No wonder no one else had anything else to say.
In general ladies from Clark's sounded pretty desperate to make us believe how lovely and friendly everyone is and how they are all a big family. Disgusting. I felt like they were trying to recruit me to a cult.
A group interview. A good level of contact beforehand and after, you had to choose a shoe to pitch and pitch it in front of the group. You also had to talk a bit about yourself.
Easy, short, relevant questions - interviewers were all friendly and genuinely wanted to help you answer questions to the best of your ability. Felt very at ease and relaxed at all times throughout.
Choose a shoe and then create a pitch to sell us this shoe. Explain why someone should buy the shoe that you have decided to choose and try to sell us.
