Interview
I applied online and also reached out to a data scientist who works at Classy. I had a very positive interview with the internal recruiter, my qualifications definitely exceeded what was required for the role. I was scheduled to speak with their data science manager, but at the last moment they cancelled the interview. Apparently this is not a one-off issue if you read the other interview reviews. They stated that they decided they wanted to go in a different direction, that they were being transparent about it. However, I saw that they later hired someone with no professional data science experience, so they were definitely not being transparent. Anyway they showed a lack of integrity and class (ironic).

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Classy, Inc (San Diego, CA) in Dec 2016
Interview
Skype video interview which includes both getting-to-know-you portion and coding portion. Basically asked why you'd be good for the job given your past experience. Then the coding portion entails simple algorithm design questions done in Python. The surprise was, well, no one told me it was going to be a Skype video as oppose to a phone call. Also I did not know there would be a coding portion, too. Oops.
