I interviewed for a position at the Clinique counter inside Macy*s. First, I applied online to a job posting for a Cosmetics Beauty Advisor position through Macys.com. The posting did not specify which brand had the opening- they usually never do. I received an email the next day to schedule myself an appointment to come in and have my first interview. I was able to set one up for the next day. I went in and met with the cosmetics department manager. We had a very nice meeting, and she told me that the opening was at the Clinique counter- which I was very happy about. She seemed to like me because she was giving me tips for my TalentPlus phone interview with the Clinique representative. The interview came to an end, and she told me she would pass my information on to the Clinique rep, and I should be getting a call very soon to have my TalentPlus interview. The next day, I received a call first to ensure I knew that I would be called to schedule a time for the interview (I believe they made that preliminary call to make sure I was still interested before they wasted their time scheduling an interview for me.) Then I received a call later on that day to schedule my phone interview. The day they were scheduling interviews for two days from that day, so I accepted. So- speed up two days, and I receive my call for my TalentPlus interview with a representative from Clinique. It is a scripted interview with specific questions designed to inform the rep of what kind of personality you have, and if you would be a good fit for the company. That lasted about 45 minutes, and it went pretty well. She informed me that I would need to wait to be contacted by Macy*s for the next step if they determined I was a good fit. I received a call the next day from the regional manager for Clinique to set up an interview to come in and meet with her. We scheduled a time for a week later (I was disappointed that I had to wait five days to have my phone interview because everything else was happening so quickly, but I was just happy to have the ball rolling.) So- we met up at the counter, and we took a little stroll to a nearby Starbucks to have a little alone time and chat about the position and whatnot. She was speaking to me like I already had the position, but of course there were still normal interview questions thrown in. That went amazing- we really hit it off, and she wanted me to meet some of the girls at the counter. Unfortunately, when we arrived back at the counter, it was too busy for me to make the rounds, and she told me she didn't want to have me waiting for too long. She inquired with one of the girls at the counter if the cosmetics manager was there (I think she wanted to go talk to her then and there) but she was not there at the time. So, the regional manager told me that she would talk to the cosmetics manager as soon as she could, and that "we will go from there." I was super excited because after everything, I felt like I truly had the job. So- two days later (which felt like forever), I received a call from the cosmetics manager saying that everyone loved me, and welcome to the team! She will be calling me tomorrow to set up a time as soon as possible for me to come in and make it all official.
