Received an email after the hours you would expect to receive an email to set up an interview after I guess I applied I am really not sure if I did. I replied rather quickly as to get the process moving and set up the meeting for less than 36 hours after getting the email. Had the meeting. the Hiring manager did not seem comfortable asking questions or really know what they were looking for. It was quite obvious they didn't have an technical skills or really know what marketing is. I have been seeing this more and more with people that are leadership positions in charge of marketing, a real lack of knowledge of the landscape, tactics, and strategy its more prevalent in those that have marketing MBAs and sales people that are for some reason in charge of marketing. They've never actually done the work this is no different.
We went over the scheduled time and they said they were doing initial interviews and would get back to me in 3 weeks for next steps. Which 3 weeks is insane just to know if there is next steps. This week will be 7 weeks since that conversation and after 2 follow ups I am giving up.
The job was under paid and the company has low ratings and the reviews make it sound like its a mess so my guess is I dodged bullet.
