I applied online. I interviewed at Clipboard (New York, NY) in Oct 2025
Interview
First interview is to discuss the case study they send you to see how you would handle "the types of challenges our Account Manager faces daily". The case study is interesting and seems realistic.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The hiring manager asks for your "Your assessment of the current problems for the top 5 accounts you would focus on, ranking them in order from biggest problems to smallest. You should also include your mental model for why you selected the 5 accounts that you did, and omitted the other 5."

Interview
I was disappointed by the interview process. I only met with the recruiter and wasn’t even able to speak to a hiring manager. Candidates were required to complete a substantial case-study assignment before having the opportunity to speak with a hiring manager or gain a clear understanding of the role, team, or expectations.
While assessments can be a valuable part of hiring, requiring significant unpaid work so early in the process felt unnecessarily burdensome and did not reflect a candidate-centered approach. The process seemed designed to filter applicants through assignments rather than meaningful conversations about experience, qualifications, and mutual fit.
Given the amount of time invested, I would have appreciated greater engagement and transparency throughout the process. Companies often emphasize the importance of respecting employees’ time and well-being, and I believe that same consideration should extend to candidates as well.
My recommendation would be to incorporate a conversation with the hiring manager before requiring extensive assessments. This would create a more balanced, respectful, and efficient experience for both candidates and the organization. I provided feedback to recruiter and they informed me that voice conversation was accounted for when I clearly meant hiring manager.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Candidates were asked to complete and present a comprehensive case study before meeting with the hiring manager. The exercise focused on partnership strategy, business development, and performance metrics
very difficult, wasted my time and interupped me many times during interview, had to do a case study and it had like 10 files.. don't recommend. maybe that's why they hire in waves
Complete waste of time (mainly yours). They have a case study same for CSM or AM role which requires lot of thinking (always welcome) but the catch, though you are told no answers are same or right, give your best shot.
Then they directly deny interviewing you based on the case study as it did not meet their expectations (well none was shared before)
Do not waste your time even though market might be brutal right now but it is better than doing this case study.
