After applying initially I filled in a take home test with about 5 detailed questions on it.
I eventually received an invitation to an initial ‘20 minute meeting’ (which actually lasted 45 minutes) and took the form of me being grilled with the same questions I’d already answered. I was told at least 4 times “this is the last question from me”…it was very off that he seemed very interested in things he hadn’t heard of before, which makes me think that this was less of an interview and more of an exercise to get free consultation.
The process seemed very interested in how to deal with performance, specifically underperformance, which makes me think that there’s either a huge problem or that the organisation is perhaps a little draconian…
I then had another interview where similar questions were asked and following this was supplied with a case study, which I was told I’d be invited to talk through with the hiring manager as the next step. Once again, a comment was made by the interviewer about how she was always looking for new ideas, which at the time I thought nothing of.
The case study itself lacked a lot of important detail but I took this as an opportunity to set out assumptions and caveats.
I completed this over three days, which included a weekend, in the interests of a fast process.
I then received an email less than a day after submitting the case study saying that my application wouldn’t be progressing, with no feedback or detail that would be of any use to me. It seemed to be a standard email saying that they don’t take interview time lightly, but didn’t think to include any useful information around how I could have improved. I found it quite patronising and disingenuous.
My LinkedIn profile was viewed by somebody at Clipboard following my submission. Maybe they saw something they didn’t like?
I think that this is another startup with an immature, long and complex interview process that maybe doesn’t know what it’s looking for OR knows what it’s looking for and should maybe be a little clearer.
Either that or this is, as others have suggested, a scam and Clipboard Health are trying to get answers to their problems for free.
