TLDR: This company’s interview process is concerning, unethical, and sets unhealthy interview practices. Listen to your gut and do not ignore the red flags. I read the Glassdoor reviews before interviewing, and I took them with a grain of salt (as you should) since people mostly leave reviews when they love or hate something. I thought some of the negativity was coming from not getting an offer, but after experiencing the process myself, it is so much deeper than that. I didn’t do a good job of timeboxing the hours I spent on the two assignments I completed as part of the interview process, but I am guessing that I spent 30+ hours on the assignments, the interview, interview prep, and researching the company. Assignments to assess skills are common, but it is not normal to expect this level of work, especially when it is on a challenge the company is currently trying to solve. It truly does feel like unpaid labor at the end of it. If Clipboard Health is expecting candidates to put this much time and effort into their interview process, they should at least give candidates the courtesy of a genuine response as to why they are not being moved forward. The email I received was really weird and vague and did not even acknowledge my assignment. I asked for feedback on the assignment but that went unanswered. Throughout the entire process, I was not asked one single question about myself or my background. The video interview was solely focused on the case study. I am genuinely confused about what they are looking for, and how people get hired here. Great company concept, but a terrible candidate experience. I hope they listen to ALL this feedback and make some changes.
