I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Clipboard in Jul 2023

      Interview

I applied for the Customer Ops TL role and received an email prompting me to do a case study about an hour later and was given 7 days to complete. Since the role was strikingly similar to my previous role I was able to breeze through the case study in about a day, and submitted my materials. Nearly two weeks later after I followed up (and was ignored by someone who had previously answered me almost immediately in a separate email) I received a rejection email with absolutely no feedback about how that determination was made. I have senior level operations management experience, so I am used to doing case studies as part of the interview process and although doing free work is kind of irritating, it's seemingly a necessary evil. So I didn't twice about doing it, nor did I feel entitled to moving forward in their process. But I was SHOCKED when I got a rejection email that literally just said they did not feel, based on the materials I submitted, that there was an alignment. That's it. Nothing else. It's absolutely infuriating to do all that work for a potential employer and receive no feedback on why they thought that it wasn't a good fit in the end. So, I followed up with their recruiting email requesting feedback and not surprising at all -- no one ever answered me. It's worth mentioning that I applied for this role on July 4th - a national holiday. I received my case study the same day, almost immediately. I don't know for sure, but I'd be willing to bet that Clipboard Health is using case studies as an automated screening process for applicants, before any real person actually ever lays eyes on your resume - instead of what they should really be intended for - final stage eliminations. Don't apply to this company if you don't want to have your time wasted. They are not invested in providing a sensible candidate experience, and will ask you to work for free and then give you zero feedback on why they don't think you're a good fit. Super disappointing experience.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The case study provided a data file and several open ended prompts in which you were asked to make decisions and explain your thought processes, based on the data provided. As an outsider unfamiliar with Clipboard's policies and workflows, it took me about three hours to complete.

      Interview

Call with an HR team member. Case study "test" required 10+ hours to complete followed by an interview. The person self acknowledged that they did not look at my CV.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They asked some specific questions about the case study. The questions required an understanding of their processes - someone interviewing wouldn't have this information. Specifically, what they consider taking too long to respond to a client issue.

      Interview

I had the same experience as most people have. The interview process is not personable at all. The company automatically sends you a case study without even speaking to you. I spent hours on the case study and then receive a generic rejection letter. After submitting my case study the person who emailed me back didn’t even call me by the correct name. Complete waste of time!

      Interview

I regret wasting my time and energy on this process especially doing this during the December festive season. Mistake. They require candidates to complete a lengthy case study that can take several hours to finish; mine was just under 20 pages. I understand the case study relevance but the interview process is too long and felt so repetitive. After submission of the case study and passing, you have to go through 3 interviews, each one focusing ONLY ON THE CASE STUDY. They barely ask you anything about your experience, skills, or things like your vision as a manager. NOTHING. No one is interested in things like how you handle relevant matters like WFH, managing remote teams etc, a flaw in the hiring process especially for a managerial position. It had been explicitly mentioned that there would be 3 interview stages, the last one being with the C-suite. They casually slid in a 3rd interview, meaning I'd have had 4 total if I'd gone through. The 3rd one was weirdly irrelevant since it was with someone from a completely different department and I'd already passed the line manager stage. I then got a very quick rejection email after this ad-hoc interview. The vague reason for my rejection could have been easily identified in the first stage to save a lot of time. It seems they have their own set of rigid rules not looking for any diversity or creativity. Case study, case study. As said here and on Reddit and Blind, I would highly advise anyone, if you value your own time and wellbeing, not to invest at all in them. The only positive thing I got is that I got prompt and professional feedback at all stages, which is rare for most as mentioned by others here who have even been ghosted. Case study, case study. BIG WHOOP.
