As mentioned in other reviews, the first step in the process is a case study rather than a phone screen. I actually think starting with a case study could be a valid and fair way to evaluate talent, so although I lacked some institutional context I ultimately didn't have concerns about this sequencing. However, as many have also said, Clipboard doesn't provide feedback once they reject you following the case study due to "internal bandwidth." I find this disingenuous and disrespectful, especially given the length of the case and the lack of prior human interaction in the process. As someone who has been a hiring manager in a process with a case study, it's actually quite easy to share brief feedback. In discussing the candidate's work internally, feedback on the document should be naturally gathered and curated, and quickly distilling those notes into even just a few bullet points upon request is the least that a company can do. For those considering this company, I do believe that they are looking at each case, but the black-box nature of the process means that I wouldn't suggest investing too much effort -- otherwise, you'll be kicking yourself for the time put into a company that doesn't have a single minute for you.
