Imagine deciding about an applicant with just a case study!
Talent acquisition connects through SM for an online meeting for the initial screening. I am then shared with a case study to crack with a max 6 page solution. I juggle my full time work and personal life, stay awake late nights to submit the case study with solutions within time.
I also get a link a day later, to apply online attaching my resume and cover letter and with questions to answer like why am I applying at Clipboard and How would you keep yourself connected and informed with the team, etc.
And voila! I get a standard email the next day, with scripted reasons, we cannot move ahead with your candidature.
I now understand that, just as Clipboard thinks its a waste of time to interview before getting a case study done, I now think the same vice-versa. No need to put in time, energy and effort, if you cant even interview.
As a person, I was always up for challenges and it tickles my grey cells to take up such scenarios to find solutions to problems in spite of knowing that things may not turn in the direction you want them to. Now this experience taught me, to say no to such calls and stop sharing solutions for free. P.S. Majority reviewers here think the same :)
