      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Cloudera (Budapest) in Mar 2017

      Interview

After a brief phone screening with a recruiter, I was asked to interview onsite with senior managers. After, I had three more video call interviews with other engineers and a middle manager about culture fit and technical skills. I've got very fast feedback after each interview and all the interviews took place all-together in around two weeks. The process felt somewhat a bit rushed, nonetheless quite thorough. All the people I talked with were very pleasant and genuine. The questions asked were generally thoughtful and personalized to my experience. The technical part of the interviews are sufficiently challenging but manageable if you are somewhat familiar with the technologies you are expected to have experience with. The communications/customer support questions are challenging and somewhat tricky. A good test of your ability to react in awkward situations. Overall, I felt my time was highly respected and my availability was appreciated. The recruiter I worked with, Ditta, was professional, responsive to emails, and highly available on the phone. She answered all my questions clearly and guided me through the whole process.
