Interview
7 round process! Farcically long. Progressed to 6th round (discovery and culture fit call) then got rejected without a reason. Upon following up the recruiter told me I wasn't a culture fit despite her colleague telling me the 3 questions that would be asked. Further probing revealed my shocking 'inappropriate and unprofessional' conduct on the call with an infrastructure architect based in Singapore.
He cited three reasons: being in my car, mentioning a date I had in response to being asked about my week and speaking negatively about an ex colleague (team lead) who bullied her reps. The recruiter is now scrambling to convey my side of the story to the hiring manager.
If you value your time look elsewhere. Joke of a company. If their interview process is so long and convulated can you imagine what their internal processes are like?

Question 1
Tell me about a deal you're proud of.
Tell me about a time you failed.
Tell me about a time you had to learn something quickly.
Generic garbage.
The interview process at Cloudflare is straightforward in structure but severely lacking in communication and support.
It typically begins with a screening call—either with an external recruiter or directly with the hiring manager, depending on how you applied. The conversation focuses mostly on your sales background, including quota, attainment, and general sales experience.
After that, you’re left waiting with no feedback or updates until they decide whether to move you forward. The next stage is a six-hour sprint that starts with a role play, for which you’re given a vague, high-level brief with little context. This is followed by a culture assessment and two additional interviews with other members of the sales organization.
While the process itself is efficient, it was easily one of the most frustrating interview experiences I’ve had. The internal Cloudflare recruiter offers no communication or transparency throughout the process and refuses to provide any functional feedback—citing a policy of only sharing “all feedback at once.”
After investing six hours interviewing and three full days preparing for the sprint, I received a single-sentence feedback email. Frankly, it felt dismissive and disrespectful given the amount of time and effort involved.
What’s most disappointing is that you can bring over a decade of experience, a proven track record of success, and demonstrable excellence—and still not receive even the basic professional courtesy of constructive or supportive feedback. It reflects a lack of character and empathy that stands in sharp contrast to the values Cloudflare claims to uphold.
The people seem pretty great, but the lack of empathy shows that this company is everything that everyone saw in the infamous viral layoff video. They don’t care about candidates, they care about the clout.
