I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at Cloudflare (London, England) in Jan 2023
Interview
Had a very unprofessional process with Cloudflare Originally interviewed with them in January for an Account Executive role Went through a screening call with the recruiter, then 45 min interview with the hiring manager. Next stage was to do a role play of a discovery call and GTM presentation. All went really well That evening I received confirmation of the next stage which was a panel interview, which I confirmed I could attend. After several days passed I had not received any meeting invite so decided to call the recruiter to follow up When I finally got through to the recruiter, he said that he had already sent me an email to say that they were no longer progressing with my application. This was apparently because they found a more suitable candidate. I was told there would be another role available in the coming months that I could apply for. three months past without hearing anything from Cloudflare, so I decided to call the recruiter myself. He told me the role was still not quite available. However, I should interview for the role and new team by doing another interview with the hiring manager, discovery, call, and GTM presentation all over again After completing this process, I got a call from the recruiter saying that everything was positive and they wanted to move forward. However, there wasn't a role available for at least another two months. Basically Cloudflare left me hanging and interviewing for roles that were never available. Not the best way to be treated as a candidate Be very cautious when proceeding with Cloudflare and be prepared to be messed around

Interview
Smooth interview process the initial recruiter was very helpful in preparing me for each interview but also by giving me the entire outline of what the hiring process looks like and what the team dynamic currently is
This was the worst experience I’ve ever had. The interview process itself was straightforward. The hiring manager conducts the first call before you even speak with a recruiter. From there, you either move on to the four-part interview series or get cut. The process includes a mock role play, a diversity and inclusion interview, a discussion with a systems engineer, and a peer interview with a current account executive.
The mock call requires you to identify a customer’s problem and recommend the appropriate Cloudflare solution. After that, it’s a simple yes or no decision. I received a job offer, resigned from my previous role, and then Cloudflare rescinded the offer without providing any explanation. I’m not even sure if this is legal. In hindsight, I should have seen the red flags, especially after the viral video of an account executive being laid off. This entire experience reinforced how problematic this company truly is.

Interview
After my first interview, it was explained to me that there would be 7 -8 interviews. One of them being a "discovery role play call" and the recruiter was to explain everything. The recruiter only had time to call me about 30 minutes before my "discovery call" in which I thought it would be interactive with the interviewees. That was not the case, they sat on the virtual call reading their emails while I asked "discovery questions" and then to find out the next day "didn't pass the discovery call" .. well I had decided I didn't want to continue with another 6 interviews after that discouraging, unprofessional "discovery" interview anyways. I found them to be a mess, which is a surprise since they are a growing company.
