A handful of basic rounds over video. Coming prepared helps as they ask boiler plate Cloudflare questions. Thought I did great. Had glowing reviews up until the last one with a Sr Program Manager who was toeing the company line. My tripped up question was; "How would you summarize and fix a situation where a 3rd party vendor misses a key deadline repeatedly?" I advised a multi-prong approach and said . "The situation is unacceptable," Being sure to not call out stakeholders; instead investigate, calibrate, learn, and adjust. The interviewer stopped, said that we don't say that word. Apparently there are several keywords you cannot say. Unacceptable being one of them. Who knows if that's what got me, but it soured the rest of the discussion and I got a swift rejection email after 5 rounds (the rejection being the 6th and final). Didn't think I had to lead with the Alma Mater. Interviewer ended the call saying, "you should have started with that." Kinda shifty imo.
