Interview
I recently had an interview with Cloudflare that left me feeling quite underwhelmed and frustrated. From the outset, it was clear that the interview team was not well-prepared. They asked a barrage of entry-level questions that had little relevance to my extensive experience in the field, which felt like a waste of both my time and theirs.
Why is someone with over 12 years of experience being asked to be on a role play call? Clearly I know what I’m doing if I’ve been in the industry for over 12 years with constantly over achieving quota.
It became evident that the interviewers lacked experience themselves. Their inability to engage in a meaningful discussion about my qualifications and the role was disheartening. Instead of showcasing the innovation and expertise I expected from a company like Cloudflare, the interviewers seemed intimidated by my background and knowledge. This not only reflected poorly on their confidence but also raised concerns about the company’s culture and its ability to attract and retain top talent.
If Cloudflare hopes to compete for skilled professionals, it must ensure that its interview process is more aligned with the caliber of candidates it seeks. The current approach risks alienating experienced individuals who may otherwise contribute significantly to the team. Overall, my experience was disappointing, and I left with serious doubts about the company’s commitment to fostering an environment that values expertise and growth.
