The recruiter emailed a link to schedule a time for an interview. Thought this was to discuss the role with the recruiter, but instead it was actually the hiring manager! The hiring manager seemed bored, walking around his home, making coffee, cleaning the kitchen, etc. He just wanted to discuss industry topics, not the actual role. The next day, I received another email with another mystery interviewer who turned out to be a junior SE. This interviewer was also disinterested and distracted by something off-camera, constantly looking back and forth. Having never received any type of preparation material from the recruiter, I was entirely unprepared for a technical interview. There is a complete lack of communication about what to expect during the hiring process.
