Interview
I was emailed about an opportunity to interview for this position over the phone. I replied almost immediately, but was met with no answer. With the day they suggested coming up, they finally resend the email from one of their personal email accounts citing that they sent an email from their 'null' accounts... Oooook, I would think after years of recruiting that they'd figured this process out and execute this well, but ooook no big deal.
Finally the interview, which was a mishmash of questions ranging from behavioral to PHP-related. Some questions related to "how you handle stress" "how do you handle failure" "what are traits" "what are some of the issues with PHP OO"
I know I answered the technical questions satisfactorily, but haven't gotten a call/email back after 2-3 weeks of waiting and a follow-up from me, so i assume they are not continuing. I think it is a very bad experience if the company does not follow up especially if you are interested and experienced in the position.
Personally, I think the behavioral questions need to be thrown out because getting an honest answer to these kinds of questions, especially for a "technical" position to someone who isn't qualified to judge the truthfulness of the answers, will not happen. The focus should have been on PHP and the position itself.
