Club Pilates Assistant General Manager interview questions

Owner was very quick to call me for an interview and then back for an in person interview. At the end of the interview she seemed to really like me and did she would, “try to get me an offer letter tonight.” We agreed I would stars work the following Monday. That night I didn’t get a letter, but a request for references. That was fine, I totally understood her need to do her homework. Another day passed and as I needed to plan for the coming week I decided to check in with her. Her response was that she was still checking references and interviewing others. To say I felt betrayed is an understatement. If she had doubts about me, that was ok, but she should have communicated that when she asked for my references. Something like, “you know I’ve had a couple more resumes come through, and I feel like I need to check them out.” I would have understood that, but just to drop it that way really disappointed me. I let her know that I couldn’t work for her given her actions because it cast into doubt her communication skills and basic honesty.
