      Anonymous Interview

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Clutter (Culver City, CA)

      Interview

Questions were incredibly hacky and meaningless. Ex: "who was the smartest person at your last company" -- this is possibly the worst interview question of all time. The correct answer "me" -- but what a completely useless question, that provides absolutely no insight. Hey.... you don't know any of the people that I used to work with. Also, if you're the smartest person in the room, you're in the wrong room. They should focus on asking questions that actually elicit meaningful insights and discussions. They clearly have several infrastructure, turnover, and communication issues that they don't know how to resolve. It was made clear that they are absolutely not a "people first" culture. The CFO stated that the hourly employees were "disposable" and that he didn't want to invest in retention programs, when "those types of people always have tons of turnover and are highly replaceable". They over-invest in their Engineers and all other employees don't seem to matter. Each person I met with had a very different expectation of what they were looking for -- nobody was on the same page. The CEO was beyond smug and uninspiring. Awful experience, across the board.
