I applied online. I interviewed at Coda in Nov 2021
Interview
The interview process with Coda for this position was questionable at best. Coda should take a look at their HR and hiring process- the way the process was handled is why I decided not to move further with this company.
Started with what I thought was a phone screen, but instead was one of their employees showing me the product for 15 minutes. They then asked if I had any questions. Never asked what I was applying for, where I live, what salary range I'm looking for, or even who she is. They told me I'd get a follow up email to schedule an interview with the *actual* hiring manager.
Rep from HR reaches out to schedule and set a date and time. She then emails to tell me the hiring manager (and would-be my boss) can't make it, so I'll meet with someone else from the team. I join the zoom interview- and no one joins. I wait around for 20 minutes as a courtesy before emailing HR rep to tell her no one showed up.
HR rep emails me 12 hours later and apologizes, she forgot to set up the interview on her end. Then asks if we can reschedule for the next day. I say yes and confirm a time. She sends me an invite for the incorrect time. Then emails to say the requested time isn't available and if I can make a different time work.
Finally have the interview with the hiring manager and it was unusual compared to others I have had. She told me next steps is a take home assignment, and after that an in-person interview at their HQ.
I emailed a thank you note the following day and asked if we could discuss salary. She told me to talk with the original HR rep. That person asked to schedule a meeting then didn't confirm for 24 hours.
At this point, I'd seen way too many red flags and told the company I didn't want to move any further.
