The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Cogent Communications (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2011
Interview
They initially set up a phone interview with a hr representative from New York. The lady was very helpful and gave me some points as to prepare for the evaluation with the manager of the office I would be applying in the city. Pretty standard interview, go over history, and show them why they should put you through to the second interview. Lasts about 30-40 minutes but very pleasant
Second interview was horrible in the San Francisco office, the interim manager from San Jose was completely unprofessional and made me wait 30 minutes because he was on the phone with a higher up. Was reminded twice that I was waiting for the interview, but continually ignored the calls from other office workers. Looked at my resume in 2 minutes and finished asking me questions in another 1 minute. Explained the position, but looked at me dumbfounded if I had more questions for him since he felt that he had inconvenienced me. Walked out in 4 minutes, but didn't get the offer.
I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Cogent Communications in Mar 2024
Interview
Spoke with a recruiter to learn more about the position. They did not seem to know my background, spoke in generalities about the company and position, and had a very unprofessional demeanor. It did not feel like this recruiter took their listing or this conversation seriously. I feel like the interview was an entire waste of my time and it became obvious very quickly why this company has the reviews that it does.
I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Cogent Communications (Herndon, VA) in Oct 2022
Interview
not much of an interview process. honestly just a conversation about what kind of sales you have done. how you’ve gotten your clients in the past and what data bases you got those leads from
